The Brits 2018 Round Up

The Brits 2018 Round Up

So, that’s it! Another year over and so many new hilarious moments have been created. But, just what happened last night at the Brits? And why was #dontstop trending?

Some of the outfits worn last night took our breath away, Dua’s big pink puffball on the red carpet was gorgeous and we loved the way Leigh-Anne from Little Mix rocked that dressing gown dress. But, more importantly, we loved that everyone was supporting the Time’s Up movement with the real white roses and the badges.

Emotional is one word to describe last night, we couldn’t quite hold it in when Ed Sheeran performed Supermarket Flowers, the stripped back rendition was beautiful and had us all calling our nans in the next ad break. Stormzy’s reaction to both of his wins warmed our hearts and it’s nice to see major stars still so humble.

Stormzy, the man of the night walked away with two brits, one for best British male solo artist and the Mastercard album of the year award, both were very deserved. While Dua Lipa, the queen of our hearts and woman of the night, walked away with best British female solo artist and best British breakthrough act. Yes, Dua!

We also saw some performances that had us holding our breath, after the confusing stop and start intro, it took us a second to realise that there was someone smashing up a very expensive lambo during Kendrick’s performance. Where do we apply to be Kendrick’s personal car smasher?

Of course, no Brits is complete without some awkward but hilarious moments, and this year wasn’t short of them. Firstly, we need to talk about Haim in the background of the Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole interview, what seemed to look like a drunk woman trying to get some airtime was really just Este from Haim trying to get a date. Also, during the very same interview, Liam and Cheryl announced the intimate information that their ‘safe word’ is “don’t stop.” #TMI

Jack Whitehall presented the event beautifully, but what really made the evening was his reaction to the Gorillaz accepting their award for best British Group. They made their speech, it cut back to Jack, and suddenly another member wanted to say a few words, and Jack kind of stood there like “okay, what do I do HELP”, shortly after their mic was cut off because, as we all know, the show must go on.

Can the Brits not just happen every month, please?
